I have a new blog! Truth in Service of Fiction. It’s intended as a personal digital sketch board, brainstorm collection and library for film projects. Specifically those of the fiction kind.
Already breaking that rule my latest posts are reference images for the MARTERIALBYPRODUCT video collaboration I’m working on over the next couple of weeks – this time for Autumn/Winter 2012 with choreographer and dancer Shelley Lasica as our dress model and performer.

Utopia Girls
11 September 2011
I was recently fortunate enough to work on a series of online videos on one of my very favourite topics – feminism. The videos are part of an interactive site produced by Studio Ish for the ABC and Renegade Films for the broadcast of their documentary, Utopia Girls. It’s about how women got the vote in Australia. I have a long standing obsession with the UK Suffragettes, in particular Miss Christobel Pankhurst, so it was fantastic to learn more about the crusaders at home. The online aspects aimed to take the debate to a contemporary context. The 3 x 10 minute video are conversations between talented women including, Catherine Deveny & Megan Washington, Joan Kirner & Ged Kearney and Marissa Barbieri & Mischa Merz. Talking personally from the context of their respective fields they debate women’s perceived inferiority in leadership, creativity and elite sports.
Launching on utopiagirls.com.au very soon.
