The Problematic World of You is a comedy of manners in a world without any.

The character-driven, black comedy series follows Lou and her circle of hipster friends in urban Melbourne. Lou, 29, attempts to navigate her life in a post-etiquette world, doomed to suffer fools gladly. Through sharply observed vignettes it takes on the mundane complications of modern life: sex, dating, sex, friendship, love, career and sex. The Problematic World of You is the everyday “what the fuck!” of life captured with a naturalistic eye and a biting, funny and fresh female voice.

Inner-city Melbourne and its incestuous art scene are central to the flavour, vibe and antics of the series featuring cameos from Melbourne best up-and coming comedians, actors and musicians and many of the episodes are ear-marked by a Melbourne cultural event; Melbourne Film Festival, Comedy Festival, Melbourne Fringe, Next Wave, as well as obscure events and just day-to-day events.

This awkward, fly on the wall show about getting a show off the ground is in the tone of writer David Sedaris and TV shows Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Larry Sanders Show. Like the best comedies in this tradition, The Problematic World of Lou bravely blends reality and fiction; at times not even the creators know where one begins and the other ends.
